I have finally printed some business cards

Despite have been freelancing as a graphic designer for almost 20 years I have never actually had a printed business card. Don’t get me wrong I have designed my own business card many times just never printed them. But with a recent wave of printing business cards for clients I thought I should finally take the plunge. They were printed by Moo in New York (10% off referral link) using their Luxe product range on Mohawk Superfine paper with a sheet of magenta paper sandwiched in-between. The result is a thick and luscious feeling card.

The front of the cards are pretty simple, using a subtle chevron pattern in a hot pink and my DC monogram. The back features 5 different ‘light-based’ photographs I have taken while on various trips to New York, London, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Santorini.

New location and studio in Beverly Hills

I’m very happy to inform you I have moved into a new studio. Relocating from the ‘mean streets’ of Culver City to the palm tree lined streets of Beverly Hills. It’s a much bigger space and has wonderful views towards the canyon, Santa Monica and the ocean, you can even see Catalina island when LA’s haze lifts.

If you’re in the area drop by for a cup of tea and some scintillating chat.

New packaging project printed

After many months in development it was finally time to print my latest packaging project. Despite originally saying ‘oh, this will be easy to print’ it ended up being quite complex with 4 colour process, two white layers, several specially mixed inks, matt varnish and a spot UV all being applied on a metallic board. The end result is looking awesome though, the grand reveal will be in a few weeks time.

New Collaboration Started

I’ve recently started working with the creative bunch over at Kluge Interactive who are based in Marina del Rey, Los Angeles, just a short hop from the ocean. We are working on an exciting (and currently top secret) packaging and branding project, I was brought in for my packaging and print experience as Kluge are primarily a digital agency. Watch out for the launch of this project in the coming months.

Ekoganik Branding Launched

I’m pleased to announce the launch of a new brand I designed for an organic food store based in Poland. The organic food industry in Poland is still in it’s infancy so the brand was developed to reinforce the perception that organic products are ‘homemade’. The client was also keen to convey the ‘supermarket’ aspect of the store so a contemporary and bold colour palette was chosen. Watch out for a full Ekoganik case study on the homepage to see how this brand was rolled out.
